Dr. Reynalds devotes the last half of the book to stories collected from numerous individuals helped by Joy Junction.  These stories provide insight into the people who Joy Junction has helped, as well as those now employed by Joy Junction.  By showing that each individual presents a different set of circumstances, Dr. Reynalds is very adept at putting a face to homelessness. 

Written as a resource to anyone who wishes to set up an emergency shelter, this is an invaluable tool to help avoid pitfalls inherent with creating this type of organization.  It is also a great reference tool for gathering information about the diversity of homelessness.
